3D sound absorbing textiles at Clerckenwell Design Week
Contemporary interior textile producer Casalis will present their Architextilescollection, during the Clerkenwell Design Week, from the 22nd to the 24th of May. The signature collection of 3D woven, acoustic panels, will feature ONDO, the latest addition to the Architextiles’ series.
Under the art direction of Anita Kars, the exhibition will showcase the various aesthetic, commercial and technical applications of the Architextiles range, exhibiting the versatility of the collection as sliding and suspended panels. Also applicable as full wall panels, in colour and shape combinations as a patchwork, room dividers and suspended room dividers, together with their sound absorbent qualities, and the possibility to integrate power sockets and screens, makes the panels excellent for use in public spaces such as offices, airports, and restaurants. The Architextiles are fully customisable and have been installed in many architectural projects worldwide including the Amazon headquarters of Milan and Paris, Liberty fashion store in London, the offices of American Express in Hong Kong, and Schiphol airport in the Netherlands, to name a few.
Also on show at Masterly this year, as part of the exhibition Mondriaan to Dutch Design, is the design for a unique site-specific piece by Aleksandra Gaca: the auditorium wall covering for Museum De Lakenhal in Leiden, the Netherlands. For this project, Gaca took her inspiration from compositions by Theo van Doesburg, the artist who founded the De Stijl movement in Leiden in 1917. Her finished design will feature in the museum’s reopening in 2019.
